Licenciado (1979) y Doctor en Medicina por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1984). Estancias Post-Doctorales: Dr. Henri-Philippe Husson (Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles, CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France (1984-1985). Dr. Wolfgang Oppolzer (Département de Chimie Organique, Université de Genève, Suisse) (1986). Dr. Bert Fraser-Reid (Department of Chemistry, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA) (1988-1989).Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura (Química Fundamental, Sub-especialidad Química Orgánica) (1979-1980). Premio 2002 Franco-Español de la Sociedad de Química de Francia. Actualmente Profesor de Investigación del CSIC desde 2004.
Líneas de Investigación:
- Síntesis y evaluación biológica de nuevos sistemas heterocíclicos.
- Química organometálica aplicada a la síntesis orgánica (reacción de Pauson-Khand, RCM, carbenos de Ru, PtCl2).
- Desarrollo de nuevos métodos sintéticos en química de radicales libres.
